To My Global Readers: Thank You!

I know I do not usually post stuff on Sundays, but I wanted to just take a minute to say thank you to all of the people who are reading the blog - I'm really happy that you guys keep coming back. I had no idea I'd be looking at hits from just about every corner of the planet when I started this blog! You guys are just really really awesome!

Here's a list of countries where I've recently been getting hits from - I'd love to hear where you are from and talk with you about it! In no particular order:

United States
UK
China
South Africa
Chile
India
France
Russia
Singapore
Malaysia
Argentina
Spain
Australia
Peru
Romania
Hong Kong

Vietnam
Hungary

19 countries - holy crap.....that's just awesome. Thanks guys. I'll be back in China soon, and I'll be able to REALLY give you some good stuff.

  1. Seems it doesn't pick up South Africa! Darn. But hey, maybe it'll show up soon. :)

Discovered your blog this week, can't remember how! But really enjoying it thus far (especially those awkward midnight phone calls haha!).

  2. Oh, no! I just saw a couple of views from South Africa - I'll put it up on there right now!

Thanks for reading - yeah, the midnight phone call was an experience...my friends in the U.S. love to remind me about that.....

Love the screen name - Confused Laowai haha - I've got your site pulled up in the next tab; I'll check it out!

  3. Hey Austin, I'm the one from France, saw your blog on Grace's facebook, maybe? not sure how. Somehow reassuring to see that going back "home" is tough for everyone. Why don't you try Peace Corps? Seeing that you studied Chinese they'd probably send you back there on the spot.
Also it would be interesting to see the change of perspective going from student to teacher, so I'll follow your next adventures.
    Good luck with your projects.

  4. Hey Mathilde! I hadn't thought of the Peace Corps, but I promise, I'll check it out! I'm wrestling with the idea of teaching and/or volunteering with an NPO and going to graduate school in the States or in China...

Yeah, going home was great at first, but then....after the initial excitement is gone, it's just not the same :( But I'll be back in China later this year, I think! It'll be great :D
